Steven Ambrico, LCSW

Steven in three words: Curious, Compassionate, Realistic

Steven is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut and California. He received his Master of Social Work from the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, with an emphasis on trauma.

Steven has worked with young adults and adolescents in various settings, including Young Adult Services programs in eastern Connecticut, community outreach and transitional housing for young adults experiencing homelessness on the westside of Los Angeles, and at an adolescent sub-acute psychiatric health facility and secure community treatment facility in Torrance, CA. Steven believes a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to the healing process, and he takes the time to build rapport and trust with each client. While solution focused, Steven knows progress will only go as fast as the client is willing and able to go, and he is supportive, encouraging, and realistic along the way. He is curious and asks lots of questions to help clients understand themselves, and he challenges them to make the changes they desire.

Steven also works as a chat and text counselor on the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Prior to becoming a social worker, Steven spent twenty years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, working as a test engineer and program manager on various aircraft and space launch programs.

Steven offers:
  • Individual and family counseling for adolescents and adults.
  • Treatment for depression, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, family issues, relationship issues, communication issues, and crisis treatment.
