"There is scarcely any passion without struggle" Albert Camus

Amanda Winter, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in CT and has been doing clinical work for over 11 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including community outpatient, in-home models, intensive outpatient and private practice to name a few. Amanda utilizes a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to navigate the healing process with her clients. She recognizes that it is not always easy to finally surrender and say, “I need help!” Amanda pulls from various modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused and Motivational Interviewing to find a good fit for each presenting issue.

Additionally, Amanda works with clients who present with dual-diagnosis which is the condition of suffering from both mental health and substance use disorders. She is very passionate about de-stigmatizing addiction and works to assist clients in getting rigorously honest with themselves to create positive change. Amanda does her best to create a safe, non judgmental environment for people to share what holds them back from creating the life they deserve.

Amanda offers:
  • Individual counseling for adolescents, adults, and families for a variety of mental health difficulties including: stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, substance abuse, and trauma.
  • Therapy for couples and families.
  • Group therapy.
