HHS Consultant and Educator

Kenneth in three words: Caring, Dedicated, and Professional.

Kenneth Colby, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Connecticut.  He received his doctoral degree at the University of Iowa in 1971.  He trained primarily at the Veterans Administration Hospital and the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, and at the Norwich Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut.  Ken then worked in community mental health in Connecticut for six years before beginning his private practice in Enfield.  He remained in private practice for 38 years before he recently retired from his practice.  He worked with adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children.  His area of specialization is hospice care, terminal illness, and bereavement.  He was involved with the Connecticut Hospice in New Haven and Branford, Connecticut, where he served for eleven years.  At Hospice, he provided direct service to patients and families, staff support, training and education, and was the clinical director of bereavement services.  Ken is grateful for the opportunity to have trained with Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D. regarding terminal illness and with Colin Murray Parkes, M.D. regarding hospice care and bereavement.

Dr. Colby serves as consultant and educator for Hopewell Health Solutions. He contributes articles, training, and consultancy services in his areas of expertise.
