Danielle LaBonte, M.Ed, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is an engaging, empathic, and dynamic listener and expert counselor in igniting change by utilizing i-Therapy™ and other scientifically based strategies to help transform her clients’ lives. Danielle obtained her B.A. in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University and her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in community counseling settings.

Danielle has proven ability to help clients implement significant, positive transformation in their lives using different techniques and skills, while customizing her work to fit the various individual needs of each client. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, i-Therapy ™, Positive Psychology, and Behavior Modification. She is also a Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Certified Assessor. Danielle keenly assesses the client during the initial meeting, jointly sets goals, and creates a “map” to motivate and propel clients forward. Some of the work she provides for her clients includes teaching coping skills, resiliency, and self-help strategies in order to foster quick relief from symptoms, independence, and freedom.

Danielle is passionate about creating a trusting alliance with her clients and building upon a client’s strengths to develop a base upon which positive, empowered strength can grow. Her counseling approach is insightful, holistic, and practical. She provides her clients with evidence-based strategies and a customized treatment plan to become their own “best life manager.” Creative elements such as art therapy, play therapy, role-playing, and mindfulness are all infused in Danielle’s care plan for her clients. She takes great care and exudes compassion for her clients and is honored to be a part of their path to health and wellness. Danielle believes it is important to practice good communication skills and self-regulation strategies. She is driven to teach these skills with her clients to facilitate in their lives to help improve their relationships and their overall well-being. Areas of expertise include: Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Adjustment Disorders, Trauma, Behavioral Disorders, and family conflict. She also has experience working with people who suffer from Substance Abuse Disorders, and assists clients to achieve their goal of sobriety.

In addition, Danielle owns a Yorkshire Terrier named Brody who occasionally joins her in treatment for pet-assisted therapy for children and adults. Brody is 5lbs and loves to be pet and given attention. He is very well mannered and one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet.

In her free time, Danielle loves spending time with her husband and dog, exercising, being outdoors, and reading books.
